Making Ajax call to check blank input makes no sense at all. I recommend you to learn and use AngularJs for your validations. And off course for regex validations Google is your friend.

Its self explanatory. Use svcutil.exe tool from the command line to generate proxy class of your WebService and then use it in your project. You can also do it by adding Web-Reference of your Web Service.

Web App can be on same or different WebServer(machine) within same LAN(for better accessibility). It all depends on how you are going to scale your System in future. Have a WebService(Preferably WCF) to hold your business logic. You may search on Google for SOA architecure.

Thanks for your reply SA. This system architecture was designed long back by some other team for small XML transformation. Day by day XSLT kept increasing :). Recently I joined this project, and we are trying to find out alternate way for MapForce-XSLT based design. Since its difficult to manage/maintain thousands of lines of XSLT.

We do have .Net based rule-engine which is just perfect for this functionality/problem. But we will have to see if we can invoke it on Unix server from Java code.

Nope, no error. It simply navigates to other page without calling WCF method, when I click on other link. But if I wait for few seconds on the page and then navigate, it does call WCF method.
