If you have your file open in vs, then have a look at right bottom of the edit window, where you see line number, column etc.

FYI, below my ugly approach,at least to determine the Groups with a thing like SetId.

As mentioned, I don't like it. It works, but I assume only by chance. This because it is not possible to have a 'order by' in the select statement for the 'STRING_AGG' and furthermore it is simply ugly and has many restrictions and does not really follows the set theory on which SQL is based.

My 5 for your help, it gives me a direction and ideas.

The result is unfortunatelly not what I expect.
It ends in 12 Groups wehere I expect 3 and also 30 reuslt lines instead of 7.
Anyway wow! Without testing, no syntax error in your sql statement ;)

Btw. My current appraoch is to create a 'Set Id' with the help of 'STRING_AGG'. It works, but I don' like it. It is far away from SQL's set approach.

a.) The endpoint is wrong
b.) The api Key is not valid
c.) The request is wrong
d.) Your code is wrong
e.) ... several hundred other things which can go wrong ...

I assume in UK it is also dd-MM-yyyy and I assume HackerRank runs on a US system. In case all my assumtptions are correct, then one needs to use DateTime.ParseExact instead of DateTime.Parse.

Then it should be a line series....

In the designer you will see a bar graph by defualt. But you can change that also:
Click the graph
In the property window for the graph there will be a property Series.
Click on that and the series editor will be opened.
Check for the series change the property to 'Line' (SeriesChartType.Line)

I really suggest to switch to .net. It is very simple to do a WinForm application.
You simply put a graph onto a form and set e.g. the properties for the graph series in the vs designer.
Yes you can do scientific graphics. Most examples shows bar graphs (don't ask me why). But as mentioned, set the property of a series from bar graph to line series and you can easely show yoour spectral graph e.g. from 360-750 nm

Btw. may I ask you which brand/model of spectrophotometer you are using?

'raw pixels similar to ByteBuffers in Java' is very general. A ByteBuffer can contain any information, not just bitmaps.

If you like to represent a bitmap in a 'ByteBuffer' - which you can ultimately simply display as a bitmap - you have to put a little more thought into it. In particular about things like bit/pixel, alpha chanel y/n etc. Also, for example, under Windows the native format is BGR...

I suggest to use type 'application/octet-stream' or 'application/zip', this because 'sample.xlsx' and here especally '.xlsx' points to a zip file (xlsx are zipped excel files). You can open an .xlsx with e.g. 7 zip to see the details.

Looks like you mix up the things....
In your main you instanciate parent_class parent; and derived_class derived1; and I think that ends in your confusion.
These two instances are completely unrelated instances and each of these instances hold it's _own_ data.

The instance parent has private1 equals to -1 and private2 equals to -12.
While the instance of derived1 has the values private1 of 20 and private2 of 32 (both stored in base class/in other words members of the base class) and additinal the member private3 of 45, member of the dreived class.

Again: The instances of parent_class parent; and derived_class derived1; are completely unrelated variables.

Read Solution 1 and try to understand the hints there. As a detail for the future: Replace you boolean upwards by an int direction where -1 means downwards +1 means upwards.
