Your code is vulnerable to SQL Injection[^]. NEVER use string concatenation to build a SQL query. ALWAYS use a parameterized query.

Beyond that, the error suggests that your query didn't work. When the query fails, it returns false rather than a result set, as described in the documentation[^].
