You can use multiple resource files one for each language or more then one per each language it does not matter.
And all your pages can ref them, and don't think of each resource location just a a single string.. think of it like a blob of data... of some type string, sentence, picture, etc..
You then create the instance of that resource and store it in a common resource file and then you can all it from anywhere.

Having resource files is a decent solution and maintainability is not difficult if you have one file that contains all the keys.

I'm working on a dynamic data website with linqtosql dbml file. Could anyone please help in giving some examples on how to update records displayed in a formview that allows paging? The formview exists in the "Edit.aspx" page with DefaultMode="Edit" and DataSourceID="DetailsDataSource" where "DetailsDataSource" is a LinqDataSource with EnableUpdate="true". The bottomrow of the formview contains a LinkButton with CommandName="Update" to perform the update operation. Once I change some info in the bounddatafieds and then click on the linkbutton, the formview loads with empty datafields and no updates are saved to the database.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you.

create update method to write a code of Update.. then create object of your table.. the property of the object created shows your table field.. assign user entered values to that property.. then pass the object of table created to update method.. in update method write a code to access all the records of table and compare the id.. assign the comparision to a var type variable.. the var type variable shows list of fields in table.. assign the object to the var variable type.. then use GetModifiedMembers(variable);
the record is updated

count how many times a radio button is selected and ans is shown in a text box
In the radio button checked event you can set one counter and each time you check that increase the value by 1.
store that in temp table(if you want) and display that value in textbox..
Hope this will do the trick..

Oh, you have to do some homework?
Or is it a suggestion for "Training Questions for Students (beginner level)"?
you need a counter which increment each time when radio button is checked
Make a variable public or private. using public to make it more easy to understand... and place it outside your function so it holds its value after each click.
private will also work, but then it is accessible only within the class itself.. that is a whole different discussion.
public int counter =0;
then in your click event for the radio button increase the counter.
counter++;
should do the trick...
Not going to write it for you though.

you also can do by the javascript here when radio button is clicked start your counter and store it in a cookie and each time clicked increase the counter this will be client side functionality

Sir, Please help me for creating a multilingual website for dynamic page in asp.net, I finds my solution my they provide a solution for static data in multi language, but i have a requirement for dynamic data comming from data base & show in multilanguage, i would like to clear you one thing data is saved in database in english language.
To the best of my knowledge, you have to save the data in each language in the database.

When it comes to textual data which have to be localized: no, that is not possible. Such magic cannot (yet) happen.
When it comes to numbers or dates or non-localized texts (names): no problem. Make sure that you use string.Format() for creating the output texts, e.g.
string name = [from your database];
DateTime lastVisit = [from your db];
string greeting = ResourceManager.GetString(...);
string output = string.Format(greeting, name, lastVisit);

What a coincidence.
May I ask you to not cross-post your question across different web pages?
You asked the same question here[^] and here[^].

I don't see the problem with posting to different sites. It's when a question is posted to multiple forums on the same site that it gets annoying.

our company has website which has been developed by asp.net web form and hosted in shared location in ORCSWEB company. web site has a specific page from where people upload their CV. when a new CV is uploaded then few entry stored in database and cv file stored in folder where our web site hosted. database is also maintain at ORCSWEB end.
i have developed a win service which run in our office and it periodically query the remote database for new CV. if found any then it will download that CV file in local machine and as well as remote cv data from remote db to local db and update a filed called isDownloaded=1 in remote db as a result next time that same records will not be queried or checked.
the whole web part and win service part working fine but now our IT head want to change in web & win service logic bit.
he wants that when any new candidate upload their CV through our site then a notification will be send to our win service after 5 minute from web apps. after getting notification from web apps then win service will download the cv.
now i am not being able to thing how to design our web apps which can send some notification directly to our win service which is running in our office because there is no physical connection or accessibility between two pc where our win service & web apps are running. our win service is running in our private network and web apps is hosted in another company machine.
some told me this can be achieve through WCF but did not guide me how to develop this kind of bridge between win service & web apps through which communication will be possible.
i know lots of experienced & scholar developer always monitor this site and that is why i like to ask them how this problem can be sorted. what logic i need to use to send notification from our web apps to win service.
so please guide me with all possible way to develop a system which solve our purpose. discuss all possible way like wcf or anything else which can be use to develop apps which enable me to achieve our goal. looking for elaborate discussion and guidance. if possible give me few sample code & links which give me idea to write code for our situation. thanks

In order to do what you want, your windows service is going to have to become a WCF service and will need to be setup pretty much like a web site would be.... So, what you are creating is a two way system...
Think of it like this...
You currently have...
Client -> Server.....
Client can send out and server can respond...
If server could Client <-- Server.. then client would not have any way to listen of respond... now you could add your own sockets and listen.. etc.. but that is reinventing the wheel.
Or even time based checking is a option..
What I think you want is
Server<--->Server.
Both can talk at any time and the other one will know when to listen.. this is what WCF will do... it will allow you to listen to server based events from your remote machine.. you will have to turn your web servic/client into a server...
Check out this article, it explains more about it.

Hi! I can't start Web Site Administration Tool.
I suspect that maybe SQLserver isn't installed properly.

Do you get an error?

Yes, but I can't check right now.
However I think it could have been something concerning SQL server.
I have Web express 2010. If you didn't include that in the install, can you do it after?
