Creating front end of a MVC 5 web application

I'm pretty new to web development and ASP.NET MVC .Can some of you suggest what technologies,software and frameworks that ASP.NET professionals use to design front-end? Front-end with all new flat design and flashy features. Please note: I'm not asking for the BEST technology. Just asking what you use as a professional.So please don't argue . I'm just asking for suggestions that are more compatible with MVC5.

Should I use a framework such as bootstrap or foundation?
Should I create everything from the scratch (my own css and java)? If so, should I use Dreamweaver or Blend or something?

Should I use SASS with a framework like compass?

I am overwhelmed by all options out there and don't know what to use. Please help me. Also, I want to know which ones are used by professionals .I'm not looking for a hack'n slash options because I love to learn it properly . Your help is much appreciated and someday, I will pay it forward.

Solution 1

It depends on the expertise of the developer. Some use bootstrap UI framework ,some HTML5/CSS/Jquery etc.

As you are new I suggest try bootstrap as it comes default with MVC4 onwards.
