I am a CEO of a construction company looking for the fastest, most efficient way to collect, annotate, store and share images from construction projects. All our field personnel have cameras and smartphones and all are required to photograph daily goings on, things that are going to be covered up, things that went wrong, etc. We have tried several commercial apps but for various reasons they don't work for us. To difficult and time consuming to upload pictures, annotate them and share them.

Is it possible that Picasa can be customized to provide this sort of "client/server" or client/cloud storage to serve as our image library? Are there any programmers here that can do that?

You would need to ask Picasa. This forum is for programming issues.

Take a look at : http://www.bittorrent.com/sync/download#mobile[^]

Which will sync your mobile devices to a PC folder, then you can share that folder in any way you want.

Tag and annotations will be your job, there are a multitude of image sharing services you can choose from.
