how do i make code optimum for mobile device

i am developing an application for iphone which play an audio by clicking an ui collection view cell. For that i have 2 ways. either i keep only 1 audio file and on clicking play a chunk of that file or i keep multiple audio files and on click required audio file will be played. i dont know which way is optimum. or shall i go for any other option. please help me as this is my first application for cell phone.
