Grid Control for ASP.NET MVC

Which is the recommended good control for ASP.NET MVC? I tried and used jqGrid but because it has a separate request to load the data, it seemed to be slow and the manager rejected it with the citation that it is slow.

ASP.NET MVC4 Razor does not seem to be supporting the standard grid controls though.

Have you tried AJAX based CRUD tables using ASP.NET MVC 3 and jTable jQuery plug-in[^]

There are others but that is the one I have used. Problem is, it looks like Infragistics / Telerik companies do the best ones but they are pay for controls....
