Can't use designer to create details view VS 2017

I am using an Accesss database with VB windows form .NET4.5. I can populate a datagridview, but cannot create textboxes for details view. I use the database connection wizard and it never shows an option to create details view. I have done a number of projects in the past with no problem. I just don't know which VS version I used. Is something missing in VS 2017?

What I have tried:

I tried VS 2019, but it is now a disaster. It supports only .net 5.0 and EF.
