My friend offloaded a beta app onto my iPhone using Xcode, I need to extract the Xcode project from my iPhone and import back into Xcode so I can make revisions. He has moved away so I can no longer access the original file or containers. I need to be able to extract the app data from my iPhone's Home Screen and import into Xcode to make changes, haven't tried much; any help is appreciated.

What I have tried:

Tried plugging phone into Mac and extracting through Xcode using the Simulator menu, just got a empty .appdata file.

The process you are looking for is called "decompilation" and it's going to produce something that will take an expert quite a lot of time to understand before he could even start to think of modifying it.
It's also probably a malicious act given that it's almost certainly against the terms and conditions under which he released the app to you. As such, we do not assist in any way, shape, or form.

Contact your "friend" and ask for the source instead. He's a mate, I'm sure he'll just email it to you ...

The thing is, as hard to believe he completely broke his laptop (coffee) and does not have any backups, do you know anyone who can decompile my app?
