Using _layout in razor areas

I converted my website from an ASP.Net website to an ASP.Net Core website and now I realize that none of the pages other than the home page is using the layout.

The ASP.Net Core website is at Sam's Simple Samples - sswa (it currently loads slowly, sorry). The GitHub repository is at SimpleSamples/sswa.

I am using areas for sub-sections of my site.

What I have tried:

As best as I can understand what The Razor _Layout.cshtml file | Learn Razor Pages says, each page in each area should automatically find the:

Pages/Shared/_Layout.cshtml

file.
