How to synchronize two process using shared memory with IPC in C language?

I have two processes one is the main firmware process and the other one is hard reboot utility process I'm trying to synchronize these both using shared memory with IPC can anyone help me with this?

What I have tried:

I have basic idea of shared memory like sharing two string from two separate process but I don't have real-time knowledge.
