How to retain selected columns from dropdown for next login and show only those cols as default when user logins .UI in reactjs and flask backend

On Login of my Application by default the frontend shows 20 columns and also there is a dropdown for user selection of these columns to show only columns user is interested working on instead of all 20. Suppose the user selects 5 columns and logouts out and again login next time I want my application to remember those 5 columns and by default show only those 5 columns when I login to application. We are getting the column data from payload from frontend so I am able to show the columns user selects but to retain those columns until user logins next time is something I am trying to achieve. Any guidance on this would be of great help.
