How can I add license key to a existing exe application.

I want to add license key which which works for application on one pc only, similar to windows activation product key, in which if we want to install windows in a desktop then one product key works only for once .....that product key will not work for another activation in another desktop. And if my exe application is shared then also it should require license key to activate in that desktop.

so please help me to build this. Its very urgent.

What I have tried:

I was trying to look for the solutuion on youtube and google. I didnt got what i needed. so please help me out.

Do you have the source code? if so what language is it?

I'm assuming this is for Windows machines only?
If so, and you want to roll the solution yourself, you can use the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\MachineGuid
Alternatively use a 3rd-party licencing library, there are several.

You could use an installer like setupbuilder[^]
It has some protection features: setupPROTECT Software Installation[^]

these are some good options but i guess the feature i want is in the paid version , not in the free version. can you please suggest me a method which is free of cost or else at a lower cost.
