Hello. In my CSS code (I have to make a popup PS: code can not be put in) there is a little bug but I do not know where to find it and it keeps crashing. Could somebody help me?

PS: this is only a 10 year old doing this

What I have tried:

I have tried other websites like Quora and Reddit but no one responds

Without seeing your code we cannot help you. Use "Improve question" to add your code and explain what you mean by "crashing" - what is the error that is shown

1 solution

Nobody responds because nobody can help - or at least based on "it doesn't work" as the only information you give us!

Think about it: you go for a drive and break down in the middle of nowhere. You get out your phone, ring a garage, say "my car broke" and turn your phone off. How long are you going to be waiting for the garage to arrive with exactly the right bits to fix your car?

Remember that we can't see your screen, access your HDD, or read your mind - we only get exactly what you type to work with.

So the first thing you will have to do is to learn how to ask a question, and that's a big subject!
Start here: Some guidelines for posting questions in the forums[^] and then read this: Tales from the Evil Empire - Asking questions is a skill[^]

Then think about what you are trying to do, and what is preventing you from doing it. Begin to frame a question around that, so that it gives the reader enough information to start understanding where you are at the moment. Then Google! Then refine your question, and maybe post it. Think first, think again, then ask!
In the case of the garage, you'd tell them your name, where you are, what the car is (make and model) and describe what you were doing when it stopped working and what exactly happened when it did. with that, they can send out a truck to pick up the car, or a mechanic with a spare part, or a secretary with a gallon of fuel! Without it they will just shrug and ignore it until you call back.

Just going "It don't work. How do I fix it?" isn't helping anyone: not us because we have no idea where to begin answering, not others with the same problem as you because they can't find your question and recognise it as the same problem, and not you because you can't get a useful solution!

What part of my answer did you read?

What information have you given us? None. All you have said is "it don't work" - and there are billions of different way it might not be working - which one is applicable to your code? We have no idea, because we have no idea what your code looks like!

Literally, you have phoned us, said "my car broke" and turned off your mobile. We have no idea who you are, where you are, what car it is, what part of it broke, what it was doing when it broke. Even if we wanted to, we can't get the right bits, the right tools, and the right mechanic; jump in the van and come round to fix you - because we have no idea what to bring or where the heck you are!

Please, follow the link in my answer and read it: think about what it says, and what might help up to help you.

You and your coded car have been sat by the side of a road somewhere for four days now - and it'll be there for a much longer time unless you give us actual information to work with!

I'm not being funny, I'm not being nasty because you are young; I'm pointing out the truth: asking a question is a skill that you haven't developed and need to if you are going to get anywhere in this life!

It doesn't matter what age you are; what subject you ask on: if you ask a bad question, you can't get good advice.

And when you say "it don't work" that tells us nothing - we know you have a problem or you wouldn't be posting here! But ... there are hundreds of thousands of ways to make a website using CSS, JS, and HTML - and load of ways to display a "Popup" in there. And we can't see your screen, rand access your HDD, can't read your mind. We can't even see your website "working", much less see what you are doing at the Server end!

So saying "it don't work" and getting petulant when you are politely told "we need actual information" doesn;t help anyone - least of all you.

So help us to help you and tell us what you did, what happened when it ran, what you expected to happen, how you are sure it got executed, what you have tried to fix it (other than assume the answer is magically available on the internet already), and what happened when you did that.

Your "code car" has be parked by the side of the road for nine days now and none of us garages have any idea whatsoever where it is or what is wrong with it! Do yourself a favour, and learn how to ask questions - it may not be obvious but that in itself is a skill that so far you haven't developed!
