There isn't much we can do to help without seeing what your html code looks like.

The code isnt the problem (). what I am doing is downloading a jpg made in photoshop to a third party image hoster. Its only blurry when i upload it to the site. I'm confused?!

The code might be the problem. But we can't tell without seeing anything. For example, the image might be 100 x 100 pixels but your html code is setting it to be 63 x 171 or something.

I'm not sure what you want us to do.

Based on your comment, your ratio is way off. You can take a 200 x 100 image and put it into a 100 x 50 slot because the ratio is still the same so it will look good.

But taking a 2213 x 519 (4.26 ratio) and stretching it to 920 x 174 (5.29 ratio) clearly is going to make the image blurry.

Okay that makes sense. So if the measurements are w 920 x h 174 than what is the max ratio that my image can be? And how can I cut that 4.26 ratio down on the image i already have?

The ratios need to match. So, you need to decide which to change your banner size on the website or have the image resized and redone.

Well I cant change the website site since everything else fits into those border dimensions. So Can i just enlarge the banner I made? I need more of a walk through as I'm so brand new to this.

Your website is stuck at 920 pixels by 174 pixels. Grab a calculator and divide 920 by 174 and you get about 5.29 ratio. So, you need an image with the same ratio, doesn't matter how big or small. The easiest thing to do probably is to redo the image.
