Can I write a program to converts regular typed (ex. x.^7=y) into "equation math" in a word processor similar to Open Office or preferably Google Docs? I'm fairly proficient in MATLAB and html but I'm sure that won't work.

What combination of programming language and word processor would be easiest?

Is there a similar program I could look to get me started?

I'm interested in doing this just to motivate me to learn. I don't care if this already exists.

I didn't know what to put for the tag, sorry if it's confusing.

What I have tried:

I'm just trying to get pointed in the right direction.
