VS 2015 SSIS configuration in SQL SERVER 2008.

Hello,

I have created a SSIS package in Visual studio 2015. Now I came to know that server has SQL server 2008 installed on it. Will my SSIS package work as expected if configured on SQL server 2008?

What I have tried:

My assumption is it won't work as package was compiled on higher version and cannot be run on lower version.
