Writing a directshow filter as default video filter for specific video extension

Hi guys,

I want to write a directshow filter which can be installed on my system and works on my players as default filter, certainly i want it for an specific video type (like *.Avi or *.mp4 extension). And I know that my players must be used DirectShow to realize this work.

What I have tried:

I know that there are some ways to register a directshow filter into registry by adding them into "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MediaType\" but i cant insure its functionality.

I'm Searching for it last three days ago but i cant find an obvious answer for it.
