How to cofigure a email programatically in thundebird

I need to develop a application where that should automatically configure the email in thunderbird. I worked on this for outlook using .prf extension folder and it is working. I didn't find any clue for this thunderbird. Need to develop this in Visual C++.

User receive the account details
Software checks which client mail applications are installed
Let the client choose which one wants to configure
Configure automatically
Please let me know if there is a way to do this.. !!

Have you looked at their SDK?
