Hi
I am in process of making an ecommerce website using ASP.NET, VB.NET. I would like to implement the real time online credit card transaction module in it.
Are there any online financial gateways which are offering such transactions for test/trial purposes (with no catches !!!) ?
Please advice. Thanks
Pankaj

Try Verisign. They have two main secure payment solutions, Payflow Link and Payflow Pro. Both have free payment trial accounts. The latter is more customizable with a thin TCP/IP communication layer, allowing you to keep users on the site.
You should also look at the Google Merchant Services Directory.

I have designed an intranet using FP2002. Using IIS, I have cataloged the site, and using an .aps page, am able to retrieve appicable pages based on my search criteria. Additionally within the catalog I have included two Directoies which point to folder locations on other servers. These folders contain .doc and .xls files. Once established, and the index function was ran, I am able to search from the IIS console, on the catalog, and return the correct .html, .doc, and .xls file results.
However....from my web page search criteria, and returned results, I am only pulling back hits on the .html files. It's as if the link between the SearchResults.asp page, and the directories in the catalog, is non-existent.
As a test, I moved some of the .doc and .xls files to the web server, re-ran the "Recalcalcuate Hyperlinks" tool in FP, and the documents appear as normal on the search page. No, I don't have the option of moving all the documents to the Web Server. I guess I'm trying to find out where that "missing link" is....Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Right well im knew to asp and i've just been given a project to change around an existing project, mainly this one file of 3000 lines of code but the variable names seems strange to me, they seem to start with letters and then a defination like "Bpopup" and "Atitle" and "SAttribute" i was wonderin if these stood for anything like s for server etc. Maybe im totally wrong but i just thought mayb there was a standard????????????
|
|
|
|
|
Asp does not force any names ..
seems that the previous developers had their standards or conventions..
like using str prefix indicate strings and tbl to indicate tables etc.
|
|
|
|
|
yeah i was thinkin they were implemented by the developers but was thinkin that mayb alot of developers may use a standard and was wondering if there was one what it was?

"knew"..??? You seem to be new to English too.
That's just plain stupid. Change the variable names to something more meaningful and try being a little generous with words...don't cut them off. For instance if its server attribute then name it something like "server_attribute" not "server_attr" etc.
Anyways when the developer writes 3000 lines of code in one file that speaks volumes about his skills.
Unfortunately the developers of webstandards have not kept pace with application/web developers...leading to such headaches.

Stop Cross posting and take a look: The answer is already on Code Project, if you would care to look.
My suggestion is to use the little search box near the top of this page and type "Amazon web services", ensure the drop down says "Articles" and then press "Go". You'll be amazed at what you can find.

Are you checking for !IsPostBack when populating the text box?
Otherwise post more of your code please.

1) if we r connected to internet there is any possibility to get our IP address by other user thru chatting in MSN messenger/yahoo..
2) if we connect->disconnect and again connect to internet thru dial up connection the IP address remain constant or it changes when ever we connect to the Internet again and again.
3) Is there any possibility to know the user computers name and his computer details during chatting by the user himself without the help of ISP provider or some servers like yahoo or msn.
4) it is possible to know the information abt the computer of user while chatting thru msn.yahoo..
Let me know it immediately..PLZ.............

This is not really a Web Development question -- it's a general Internet Networking question
Most (but not all) IM clients generally go through centralized servers so it's difficult without some external means to find out your IP address from just messaging.
If a user gives up their intel, visits a tracking website, sends data directly host to host (e.g., pictures, files, ...), downloads or inadvertently executes code which exposes the IP or computer details, if they go peer to peer without an intermediary server or through a compromized server, or there is (heaven forbid) a bug in the IM client which gives up the goose, then it's possible to be exposed. This happens all the time to hapless users who aren't careful with where, who and how they communicate on the net.
If you have a normal dialup, like most who use dialup, your IP address is assigned dynamically each time (the same goes for broadband.) Some people opt to have static IPs. Some ISPs also assign a host name to the dynamically assigned IP address. You may, depending on your ISP get the same IP occasionally. Most likely, the first two pairs of your IP address will be the same A.B.x.y, where x and y change. Occasionally x will be the same, depending on the ISP.

Hi All,
I have written a little POP3 Email client to retrieve mail from an email address, with the intention of pulling mail, parsing it and logging it in a DB. Problem is, the mail retrieval comes through MIME mail encoded (Text), The emails are multipart and I therefore need to consolidate the email in a format where I can display the HTML and any attatchments. Short of rewriting the MIME RFC specs does anyone know of a way I can get the mail into a parsable format. Or better still store the info in the .NET System.Web.Mail.MailSessage format.
Any Help???
Thanx
Greg

Hi I have a web page and was hoping to change the icon in the address bar for it. Its that little webpage default icon before the webpage address. What type of file does it need to be and what size should it be? Do you simply change the icon for the page and then reupload it to the server? Thanks for anyhelp, sorry if this was a stupid question.

I'm an html writer and I want to know if there's a way that I can do some sort of text replacement without using frames/iframes.
For example, let's say I want a menu on every page, if I update that menu, then I have to update every page. Is there a way to say, put the code for the menu in a separate file and load it for multiple html pages.
Anything will do. HTML, CSS, PHP, whatever, so long as I can research the technique.
Thanks

ASP and PHP support a feature called include. This inlines a seperate text file into your code. Here is the ASP syntax <!--#include file="fileToinclude.asp"-->
Here is a CP article on it.
Google will have plenty of info for you as well.

Hi,
I am currently designing a website, and I require to have two different size pop up windows.
I have a fairly basic knowledge of Java, a very basic script would suit me! Just as long as it works.

You would use JavaScript and the window.open method.
Here is an article on it.

Send an email using ASP By Fernando Finelli right here on CP. It may not have the highest rating but it tells you the basics.
And if you don't have access to server-side processing on your webspace then all you can do is include a mailto:test@domain.com link on your site.
