Hi CP
I've written a tool to count the number of times unique IP addresses occur in zipped raw access logs and I'd like to share it with CP but can't work out where best to post it.
I wrote it to quickly identify aggressive bots on my website so I can block them by IP address.

I would say an article with a good explanation and the source code to download would be the best option.
About sections... I think it could be in:
If it works online
- Web Development >> Applications and Tools
or
- Web Development >> Trace and Logs
or if it works offline (you download the logs and work locally)
- Desktop Development >> Miscelaneous
or
- General programming >> Internet / Network

Free tools is mostly used to give a heads up to other people about freeware found in the net.
Not to post / explain about the self-done things
If you are hosting a direct download to your tool, then it might get there. But if you are trying to use images and give a small explanation you can use the Tip/Trick instead of an article (shorter form) or the project type.

AFAIK only "Bugs & Subs" and the "Where am I" subs are allowed to have images, so the "Free tools" would not work out as you wanted.
If you think it is a lot of efford to post it I am sorry. I just wanted to avoid you unnecessary time waste trying things that are not going to work.
The easiest way for you to manage this is do a tip/trick because it is the small type to publish something without writing big things. If you don't know how to use the editor, you might write a Word doc with the content and the images you want to publish and sent it with the source codes to @Sean-Ewington or (if you want) to me and I would try to make the publishable version and send it back to you, so that you can publish it straight through just adding the downloads on your own.
I just saw that you alrady have 19 articles and a tip online, so you know better than me how to use the site.

I don't think I am able to do it good enough to publish as I still am not very proficient with Async programming.
But I think this post in the insider news[^] brings a topic for a nice article comparing the structure, the usability and / or performance of traditional async interactions and the new channels of C#
Just in case someone better than me wants to take the idea.

when I print an article, many of the images are lost. I am using win 10 and edge browser. what am i doing wrong

I've had this happen occasionally and thought it might be latency. Before printing, see if giving the article more time to load its images fixes it.

Re-uploading the same images should work. If you'd like I can check to make sure the paths are correct.

I was working on an article. Did quite a bit of work and add images and have been saving along the way... Quite a bit of work involved. I dropped an image into the image upload area and the entire article disappeared.
Codeproject editor thinks it is this article which has nothing in it.

I've found that the best way to submit an article is to write it on your local box (I downloaded the CodeProject CSS file to get it to look like CP while I'm writing it).
When you're ready, simply go to CP, start your article, copy/paste the body to the article wizard, and upload all of the images and source zip file at the same time. It takes me about 10 minutes to do it that way, and I don't have to worry about anything weird happening from session to session.

Hi
I want the array of data under items, using this code i am able to get only the value under the first structure of data under items. How can i loop to the second structure of data under items, and further more if present. I am doing this using boost in c++.
