Is there a way I can hide the date/time in individual messages or at least customize the format? In settings I see a timezone but not the format customization!

No there isn't.
Is the current format difficult to read?

It can be bit more simplified to save on screen aesthetics and save that extra strain for the retina.

Dear CP Team,
In suggestions I find two separate views like View: Open items | Closed items.
I am trying to suggest you if you could provide one consolidated view and mark the status in the message itself as Open/Closed.

If you select "Thread View", that will show you all thread-starting messages and to the left of each message is an icon representing its state (e.g., fixed, confirmed, ...). It also includes messages which have not yet been assigned a state. Is that what you are looking for?
|
|

But 'Open'/'Closed' are mutually exclusive, I believe, still.

Yes, and you are asking a view with both of them (if I understand you correctly). That is the default view. Don't click "Open" or "Closed" and you will be viewing all items. If you have already clicked "Open" or "Closed", click the "Site Bugs / Suggestions" link (in the breadcrumb) just above those two links.

Can cp consider having a customized url shortener for sharing its articles?

For what purpose? There are generic URL shortening services when they're desired.

'The Brand'.
Amazon: Amzn.to
Bing: Bi.ng/bing.it/binged.it
j.mp: (by bit.ly)
Fb.me: Facebook
t.co by Twitter

That doesn't really explain a purpose. Why would such a thing be useful?

No.

Is there a reason, Chris? Because every organization and/or brand is vying for establishing their brand in this sphere right?

Sounds like a good candidate for buzzword bingo.

I don't see that offering a tinyURL service helps establish a brand. We do code sharing and developer help. We're not bit.ly.

In settings I see a section called 'Your Anonymous Token:'. But if a token has got divulged inadvertently, is there a way to reset it?

Question for the site admins: what is the purpose of this token?
|
|

It looks like CP is intending to offer its services through other websites like Yahoo/FB/Twitter Authorization. See 'security' tab in 'My Settings'.

Ah, so they may offer a web service and your auth key gives you access. Makes sense. Thanks.
|
|
|

Yes. They ought to equip a feature to reset the access token if it gets compromised. That is missing now. Also a feature to disable API access also would help fortify the account.

The token is currently unused. I'll add this feature to the TODO list.

Well, I was sitting in a different chair today. Thanks for the clarification.
