Hi,
it depends how your DAC is implemented. If you are using thread-synchronization methods (like locks, Monitors etc.) then your DAC does not support multiple requests at once. This will force the second user to wait until the first one is done using the DAC (depends really on the implementation).
If you didn't use synchronization methods, then your DAC can be accessed by multiple users at the same time.
Singleton only means that you are using one single instance on a class. It doesn't say anything about multi-threading. But if you use a singleton in a multi-threaded environment (like a webserver) you have to pay attention that multi-threading is not a problem for your DAC (side-effects).
Singleton is a design-pattern <-> serving one request at a time is a threading issue.
Hope this helps a bit.

Sebastian

satz32 wrote: My concern is when DAC is singleton, single instance will be shared across all the session.
This depends if DAC is running in separate Application Domain and serving to multiple application instance via Web Service or any other interoperability methodology. Otherwise every application will have associated DAC running in same application domain, No matter how it is implemented.
satz32 wrote: I am totally confused how it will share the single instance across all the session. If the single instance serve each user request sequentially one after other, application will become slow, or mybe i am thinking completely wrong way.
You can easily figure out if DAC is running in separate instance by inspecting application architecture.

Since you are redirecting from a popup to another page and by default it will be navigated in same page only.
What i this is that you want to open a new page in new window, which is not a popup.
For that you need to do
1. Open a new window.
2. Then close that popup

I have problem with my web site, when user sign in i use the session to store username and password, but it early to expire. Sometimes 1 or 2 mns.
I have put Session in web.config already
<sessionstate mode="InProc" stateconnectionstring="tcpip=127.0.0.1:42424" sqlconnectionstring="data source=127.0.0.1;trusted_connection=true" cookieless="false" timeout="6000">

If your session is set to the default of 20 minutes then there must be some other cause.
If your session is stored as "InProc" (In Process) then it can be damaged by a number of things. The App Pool being recycled (becuase it is now in a different process). IIS being reset. You have a web garden or web farm. Anything that means that the new web request is handled somehow by a different process to the previous request.
However, if you are doing this in Visual Studio and stopping and starting debugging then this is only natural and to be expected.

Yes, I used "InProc" in web.config
I developed in Visual Studio in my local, it work normally, but when upload it to the server it work not good because the session always expire. So anyway that can do?
