I have solved this problem using AjaxControlToolkit...
<cc1:UpdatePanelAnimationExtender ID="UpdatePanelAnimationExtender1" TargetControlID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<Animations>
<OnUpdating>
<FadeOut AnimationTarget="UpdatePanel1" minimumOpacity="0" />
</OnUpdating>
<OnUpdated>
<FadeIn AnimationTarget="UpdatePanel1" minimumOpacity="0" />
</OnUpdated>
</Animations>
</cc1:UpdatePanelAnimationExtender>
In UpdatePanel1, there is a label which shows status. When it is processing, label text turns to nearly blank.

Not sure whether this can be done with a GridView, but you could achieve the required results using nested Repeater controls. The outer Repeater control would display the main list of questions. The nested Repeater control would display a list of radio buttons representing the available answers to questions. This Microsoft article[^] explains how to do this.

What? Do you mean how can you use the membership and roles providers in a winforms application? If so, you need to add a reference to the system.web entries for the membership and roles providers into your app.config file. You also need to add a reference to System.Web in your application.

I have two buttons on a form for navigating forward and backward. In each button I set the text to "<<" and ">>". when I open the page it correctly displays two less than and two greater than symbols in each navigation button.
However when I look at the source for the page it shows the less than as the escape codes but the greater than as the actual symbols themselves. No problem it seems for a desktop browser however, and this is the only way I would have ever noticed this, it chokes a cell phone browser as I'm working on XHTML standard pages. The cell browser gets confused by those actual greater than symbols even though they are in quotes.
Any idea why IIS serves up > as the actual symbol but < as the escape sequence (it's the text="" property of a server control button)?

When I developed the website, I had put the classes which needs to be accessed throughout the application in App_Code. Now when I develop a web application, I don't see App_Code folder.
Am able to drop them in App_GlobalResources folder and it works but I read it is for the global resource files.
What is the best practice and where should I drop the class files?
Thanks

Hi there,
1) Right click on the project in the solution explorer
2) Choose Add ASP.NET Folder --> Choose App_Code
Now you can add your classes there

That is not possible since ASP.Net folder consists of only App_GlobalResources, localresources, Data, Browsers and Theme.
On a web application, am not able to add App_Code.
On a web site, as you said, am able to.
Where should I drop the global class files on the web application?
Thanks

You are correct, there is no option for App_Code, I just ran into this the other day. You can simply make a folder manually by that name and asp.net will recognize it as something to be compiled separately.
However if you are making a web application rather than a web "site" it won't matter where you put the classes as they will be compiled into the entire assembly anyway.

Hi,
I am developing a website and I am expecting about thousands of database requests per minute, my database stores simple text, all requests are READS.
Now, I am using Microsof Access Database (JET) as my database provider, but I heared that this type of database cannot handle such great load of requests, so what is the best choice of database for this application?
Thanks you,
Mohammad Gdeisat

Surely u muct replace the access database, u can use Microsoft SQl Server database, it can handle that load but if you are expecting more than SQL Server can handle choose Oracle.
As for me I mostly use Microsoft SQl Server and all is going well
Enjoy

Thank you 3ala2 for you answer,
If you are an experienced ASP .NET developer and if you are a Muslim, then I would like to invite you to take Ajr and work with me to develop a very important idea about Quranic documentation on the Internet, this is used to document all Quran and Hadith content in the Internet to face the mis-quoting content from Quran and the Sunnah. The idea is very new and very unique.

Hi every body!
I am developing application in ASP.NET 2.0 and C#. I have a page with few text boxes, i attached some required field and regular expression validators with text boxes. there are two buttons on page, one is "Submit" and other is "Cancel".
when user clicks "Submit" button validators validate the conrols and every thing goes fine, i called client side click event on "Cancel" button which resets the values in text boxes. the problem is that when i press "Cancel" button the validators comes to action and gives error.
Can any body tell me how to tackle this problem?
Thanks in advance...

Did you consider setting CausesValidation to false for the cancel button?

You need to check ValidationGroup property. Set same validation group name for your validators and submit button. Don't set any validation group for cancel button. This will solve the problem.
