Sorry it took me so long to reply. I got wrapped up on something else...
What Im really asking here, is what would be the best control to accept multiple serial numbers from the user. Like how you would enter a combo box's items in vb.net in the designer. You click on items in the property window and a rich text box comes up and you enter each combobox item each on a different line. Something like this. I guess I could do it like that, im just asking to see if you or anyone else can think of a better way to do it, and how... My database isnt built yet. I am writing the front-end first and then the back-end(SQL)...
Thanks for your help...

OK, I'd imagine your two options are to have a table to which a serial number is added in each row ( so, a combo box ), or, the way I see it mostly done, is a textbox and the serial numbers are semi colon delimited.

Why do you check the value of the reference before setting it? It doesn't matter what the value is before, as it doesn't have to reference an object in order for you to be able to set it to Nothing. Just set it:
objinfo = Nothing

Year happy = new Year(2007);

Hello Everybody,
Im learning web application with vb 2005 and I got some question, really I need your help
DS = DataSet
DR = DataReader
1. dsReport.Tables(0).Load(drReport)
My question is why is table(0) ? and If I create more than one one table then how do the dsReport will find the table?
2. Is their anyway I can pass a HyperLink from the report?
Let me tell what Im doing................
I got the top 10 Customer basic information in the report, When I will click CustomerID or CustomerName then another page will be load where I can see the whole details also I would like to put a Button (CustomerActivity) when I will click the button then I would like to see about his transaction like how many times, how much................... what he has done so far.
Top 10 Customer --> One Customer whole details --> One Customer Activity
Also could you please tell me if I would like to pull data from web server then do I need to change..... the following
ReportViewer.LocalReport.ReportPath= Server.MapPath(" Name.rdlc")
or
Just change the DataAccess path ( Localhost to Server ............)
On the other hand, I viewed data in a GridView where I created some property for the table and connect the class file with the gridview.
Can I connect the Class (All Property (Like a Table)) with Report?
Im using VS 2005 Report and ReportViewer, I dont want to use Crystal Report.
Please help me......
Waiting For Your Reply

Hi,
I'd like to know how i can print an image at it's real size.
I know how to print an image at full paper format, but how can i print an image at real format? (Source code pl0x)
--Zaegra--
|
|
|
|
|
Well, you realise if you print at 'real format', you'll get a tiny image, as most printers are at least 300 dpi ( so a 300x300 bitmap will be 1 inch square )

Hi All,
I was wondering if it's possible to make a form pop up in a specific area of the window?
For example if a button is pressed that calls form2, can I get form2 to pop up in a certain area of the window.
Thanks in advance

just add this line to form load method
Me.DesktopLocation = p
where p is a point.
|
|
|
|
|
how do I specify the point?
for example I want it to be in 559, 546 but when i do
Me.DesktopLocation = 559,546 it doesnt work (doesnt work when it's in brackets either).
Thanks
Jaidev

|
|
here you go...try this
Dim loc As New System.Drawing.Point
loc.X = 559
loc.Y = 546
Me.DesktopLocation() = loc
|
|
|
|
|
You have to declare a New Point . Like this:
<br />
Dim Place As New Point(200, 200)<br />
DesktopLocation = Place<br />
Trinity: Neo... nobody has ever done this before.
Neo: That's why it's going to work.

Hi ALL!
I wrote a very small app which reads out the cell values in excel and "Sendkey"s them to another application. I would firstly Send an 'alt tab' to set focus on the receiving application. Then basically flush all of the cell values.
E.g. of code used:
Application.Sendkeys "%{tab}", True
Application.Sendkeys ActiveCell.Value, True
Now, the problem is that it used to work perfectly on my old slow ass donkey machine. I recently got a newer, slicker machine and it just doesnt write the values to the application. It 'alt tabs' but just doesnt write them.
Any suggestions?
I will consider looking into AppActivate instead of 'alt tab'.
Thanks Peeps!

I have discovered that Excel 2003 likes to choose when to send the alt key (%).
If I edit the code and save it, then run it. it works fine.
If I open the xls file and just run it, it does not work.
Please can anyone tell me how to get excel to send the alt key every time?
I have tried "Application.Sendkeys" and "Sendkeys".
Thank You

the c# code:
public delegate void SchedulerEventDelegate(SchedulerEventType type, string scheduleName);
static public event SchedulerEventDelegate OnSchedulerEvent;
if (OnSchedulerEvent != null)
how can I convert this to VB?
more detail:
I have a code in c# from http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/eventscheduler.asp
My boss ask me to convert it to vb.net
currently I have a problem with this line:
Code:
if (OnSchedulerEvent != null) (in c#)
when i convert it to
visual basic code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------If Not OnSchedulerEvent Is Nothing Then--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the error I'll get:
Public Shared Event OnSchedulerEvent(type As SchedulerEventType, StrScheduleName As String)' is an event, and cannot be called directly. Use a 'RaiseEvent' statement to raise an event.
what can I'll do????
C# code
Code:
public delegate void SchedulerEventDelegate(SchedulerEventType type, string scheduleName);
static public event SchedulerEventDelegate OnSchedulerEvent;
if (OnSchedulerEvent != null)
Vb.net code
visual basic code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Public Delegate Sub SchedulerEventDelegate(ByVal type As SchedulerEventType, ByVal StrScheduleName As String)
Public Shared Event OnSchedulerEvent As SchedulerEventDelegate--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|
|
|
|
|
|
(via Instant VB):
If Not OnSchedulerEventEvent Is Nothing Then
note the extra 'Event' - accesses the hidden VB <event>Event variable.
Instant VB is the only C# to VB converter that takes into account hidden VB fields such as <event>Event.

Hey, Got the answer,
I have done using the followin two functions to do that,
Public Function GetColorToString(ByVal colorObj As System.Drawing.Color) As String
Dim hexString As String
hexString = "#" & Strings.Right("0" & Hex(colorObj.R), 2) & _
Strings.Right("0" & Hex(colorObj.G), 2) & _
Strings.Right("0" & Hex(colorObj.B), 2)
Return hexString
End Function
Public Function GetColorFromString(ByVal strColor As String) As System.Drawing.Color
If Not strColor Is Nothing Then
Dim colConvert As New ColorConverter
Return colConvert.ConvertFromString(strColor)
End If
End Function
It's working for me.
Be simple and Be sample.
