I'm sorry I have to write it one more time (this is something like the 5th time), but no-one has answered and I have to get them figured out! and I will keep posting it every time it crosses the next page untill I will have answers, and as you see.... this is REALY ORGENT!
please help me...
1. I'm trying to build my own ICryptoTransform-able (System.Security.Cryptography.ICryptoTransfom) class, so I could use it in CryptoStream. (I searched in codeproject articles and didn't fine something helpful, I promiss that if some-one will help me I will write an article on how to do it!)
I already built the algoritm, and I inherited from ICryptoTransform as they wanted to, and I'm using MSDN to know what methods and properties I need to do, but there are two properties, and two methods that I don't know what to do with them, and what I should return from them... the properties are InputBlockSize AND OuputBlockSize, and the methods are TransformBlock and TransformFinalBlock, I don't know what they need to get (what does every parameter stand for), and what to return, the MSDN doesn't help me very much in here.
If anyone can tell me what to do in them, and even give me an exemple I would appriciate it...
2. And one more thing, where can I save information on my application (i.e is registered, setupdate etc...), and how that it won't be able to be changed without my pass or something like that...?
Thanks alot in advance

The MSDN page on TransformBlock[^] should help you with the parameter meanings.
As far as InputBlockSize and OutputBlockSize, have you tried some arbitrary value, say 4096? My guess is that this is just the size of the each block encrypted in/decrypted from the stream.
As far as storing information regarding setup, if you absolutely need it password protected, you'll need to write something yourself that saves the information to disk in an encrypted format and requires a secret password in order to modify. Chances are though, that's overkill. Just put that information in a configuration file or in the registry.
Also, threatening to keep posting your message does little for your cause; it makes you come across as demanding.

don't you think that I would have already searched for all of this if I was asking this 5 times?
I saw almost everything but still doesn't explain very much and very good...
I still don't know what every parameter stand for...
as for storing data, I don't need it to be password protected, but if I put it in a configuration file then it's open to all to modify, and I don't want that.
I keep posting this because it's going down and no-one sees it, and it's realy importent to me, so I keep posting until I'll get my answer.

How do you know that?

Ok but at least stop saying "REALY ORGENT" ... should be "REALLY URGENT".

Then just look at the recent postings. I bet you don't have to go many pages back to find a post with the subject "PLEEEEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!!! VERY URGENT!!!!!!!!!".

NaNg, calm down and think logically. You seem to believe that everyone has developed an ICryptoTransform. If that were the case you would have found infinite examples on the internet. If you don't believe me do a Google for internet chat program code.
I have no idea how to develop an ICryptoTransform or I would gladly help you.

leppie does and he is not telling =\
so atleast the other question, about the settings... I don't need it to be password protected, I just need it to be protected, so it can't be seen as plain english...
oh and another thing, if I use the VC# Express publisher, how can I retrive the installation path? (I want to put a link on startup folder to the file)

see this previous thread[^]
NaNg15241 wrote: if I use the VC# Express publisher, how can I retrive the installation path?
Never used it. Does it create a MSI (Windows Installer)? Windows Installer will have the installation path and provides mechanisms for creating startup entries. I don't know how to use it to create a shortcut to a folder.

so in the visual studio, I have a settings tab, now I can write here some non-importent stuff, but I need more info about user\application scope, what does it mean? does application means for this run or all runs? does user mean for this application run, all application run, windows etc...

Did you look at the documentation? There is a link to documentation on the settings editor:

I hate MSDN, they don't know how to explain stuff...

Really? I'll concede they don't always provide the best documentation, but generally MSDN is sufficient. For example, on your TransformBlock method, they give the following information on the parameters:
inputBuffer
The input on which to perform the operation on.
inputOffset
The offset into the input byte array from which to begin using data from.
inputCount
The number of bytes in the input byte array to use as data.
outputBuffer
The output to which to write the data to.
outputOffset
The offset into the output byte array from which to begin writing data from.
Return Value
The number of bytes written.
Honestly, that's not bad documentation. They're telling you what each parameter is in order that you can call the function with some understanding of what's going on. Now, if you don't understand bytes, arrays, or the meanings of the terms used in the documentation, then you need to study the entire class to get a better understanding of the context.

so what do I do with the outputbuffer? as I understand this method returns how many bytes are writen, so why do i need to output buffer and offset?
|
|
|
|
|
|
From the documentation:
Transforms the specified region of the input byte array and copies the resulting
transform to the specified region of the output byte array.
Perfectly clear. If you are having trouble understanding this it is not the fault of the documentation.
