Hi,
I have written a C code of an encryption algorithm. How do I measure the number of cycles of my implementation? Hope to get some feedbacks/suggestion from the forum members, or can email the feedbacks to my email address watija@yahoo.com.

just put a Counter(an unsigned int or long or anthing like that) in your Cycling Function ( ) i.e. encryption algorithm.
and every time the Encryption Algorithm make a cycle, increment the Counter by one , and when your cycling function end, you will get number of cycles in the Counter

if you want to know CPU cycles (ex. "it takes X cycles to do one round"), you'll have to analyze a machine-language implementation of your algorithm.

Back when I took mine, Microsoft used to provide practice exams that closely mimicked the real exams. I've not seen those available of late. If you know the subject material well enough (eight months is highly questionable), practice exams are not necessary. Transcender.com[^] is another resource.

Hello, my name is Kevin. I'm a 16 year old programmer. I do C++ and build webpages.
I'm having an error; a major error at that. Not the most common 'pharse' errors. I'm using the Introductory Edition to Visual Microsoft Studios C++ .
Here is the code and compiler error message:
#include <iostream>
int main()
{
using std::cout;
cout << "The size of an int is:\t\t"
<< sizeof(int) << " bytes.\n";
cout << "The size of a long int is:\t"
<< sizeof(long) << " bytes.\n";
cout << "The size of a char is:\t\t"
<< sizeof(char) << " bytes.\n";
cout << "The size of a float is:\t\t";
<< sizeof(float) << " bytes.\t\t"
cout << "The size of a double is:\t"
<< sizeof(double) << " bytes.\n";
cout << "The size of a bool is:\t"
<< sizeof(bool) << " bytes.\n";
return 0;
}
-----------
Message Error description
#include <iostream>

return 0;

Hi there, try
#include <iostream>
Work hard and a bit of luck is the key to success. You don`t need to be genius, to be rich.

You mean #include int main()?
I tried that, actually it came up 2 errors when I tried it.

I think he's trying to get at, there isn't an error message in your post. Do you know what the error message is that the compiler is printing out?

The fourth cout statement is in error. Put each statement on a separate line and you'll see the problem.

What do you mean put each statement on a seperate line? How do I do that?
Could you give me an example please?
Thanks

Your way:
int main()
{
using std::cout;
cout << "The size of an int is:\t\t"
<< sizeof(int) << " bytes.\n";
cout << "The size of a long int is:\t"
<< sizeof(long) << " bytes.\n";
...
}
My way:
int main()
{
using std::cout;
cout << "The size of an int is:\t\t" << sizeof(int) << " bytes.\n";
cout << "The size of a long int is:\t" << sizeof(long) << " bytes.\n";
...
}

How to use property sheet in a system tray?
I would like to do that suppose when we double click on .exe, so that my application should be minimized in system tray just like Norton. Is there any example available related to property sheet minimize in system tray?
Regards
Rajesh

Hi Mr Rajesh,
Just Treat PropertySheet as Simple CDialog class and proceed same way for attaching the System Tray Icon as you have done in any CDialog based Project
