If intelligent civilizations exist out there, they may not rely on amounts of energy that would make them visible to us. They're playing peek-a-boo

They don't believe there is any intelligent life on Earth?

I saw a meme a couple of years ago:
Frame 1: Aliens are viewing Earth society during the reign of Egyptian Pharos and hieroglyphics. Their comment is "no written language, we'll give them more time to advance."
Frame 2: Aliens are viewing the Earth today and see all the emojis. There comment is "no written language, we'll give them more time to advance."

A new “State of software security” report says application code is “drowning in debt”, where debt is defined as flaws that remain for longer than a year, and that AI-generated code is no more secure than that written by humans – but it adds that AI trained on common software weaknesses (CWEs) can accelerate code fixes. Time for Raft#
"The worst, by some measures, is Visual Basic 6 (VB6) – long deprecated by Microsoft but still running business-critical applications. " <-- the gift that keeps on giving!
I was considering going with "One - Something's got to give", but decided that was too many degrees of separation.

Having written in VB6 I know you could write secure code in it. However, many of the ActiveX controls were about as insecure as they came. Even Microsoft's ActiveX controls were riddled with security issues.

More evidence that Microsoft needs to force third parties out of the Windows kernel. Notice that Hyper-V never suffered from these types of issues. It's because Microsoft vetted every single kernel driver before allowing it onto a Hyper-V server.

Some ChatGPT users said they’d use ChatGPT less if it included watermarks. In related news: speedometers removed from cars because drivers might speed

That was actually a thing here in the States in the 1980's. The gov't made a regulation that car speedometers could only go up to 85 MPH, because that would remove the temptation to speed. I kid you not.

The C++ language has two large categories of “don’t do that” known as undefined behavior and ill-formed program. What’s the difference? If you wrote it, or if someone else wrote it?
