If the OS really does put privacy first, then that means that advertisers will be put last. Therefore the OS will be unsuccessful.

Not necessarily. If licenses are cheap enough, and customization of the O/S to specific hardware is easy enough, the cost could be absorbed as part of production.
The phone OEMs get nothing from advertisers. All that revenue goes to the social media and search engine giants, with a trickle to website owners. The main drivers of Android use by OEMs are (a) that it's free, and (b) that it's based on Linux, so getting developers to customize it is relatively easy.

Liquid nitrogen (always bold), has been a joker card to answer dumb questions in CP since I am member. I can give you that it now is not used as much as before, but I didn't thought it was that fogotten

I can't figure why I feel compelled to examine the specs of the "ooh shiny" new CPU's and GPU's, notebooks/laptops, monitors, etc.  And, the issue of higher clock vs. more cores ... why do I bother ? Maybe I need a 12-step recovery program ?

Some people buy car magazines, others buy "beautiful homes" magazines, still others buy "guns and ammo" magazines. Doesn't necessarily mean that they are going to buy any of these items.
