I heard from a former IBM employee (so I have no URL to back it up  ) that there is an official term in IBM: A TF, Temporary Fix.
Informally, within IBM, there is another term: PTF, a Permanent Temporary Fix...

The entire credit scoring system is a scam. My credit score went down as I paid off credit cards, student loans, and my mortgage. The credit bureaus are now claiming that I don't have sufficient open lines of credit to be credit worthy - BULL HOCKEY!
Trans Union should be ordered to pay for every single drivers license, open line of credit (including mortgages and other expensive to open credit lines) to be replaced. Then, if it's discovered that Trans Union was lax in ensuring their security the CxO suite should all be given, at their expense, a nice 20 or more year vacation in the nearest jail with no parole.

A punishment that would better fit the crime would be to fine them their entire assets, bar them forever from serving as an officer in any corporation, and cut them loose to live under a bridge with the other homeless.
Probably unconstitutional (excessive fines, post-hoc laws, etc.), but very satisfying. :devilish grin:

I think you could get away with the fine so long as it goes to pay the victims.
