The request is coming from Native Americans. They are mad at what happened in their past. The topic is far more nuanced than a 'left-right' dichotomy.

Not really. I can almost guarantee this organization donates entirely to socialist and other leftist causes.

So you can also guarantee that Native Americans aren't mad about what happened in their past, and their treatment today? I've driven across reservations. I would not want to live on them. Your point doesn't make it a pure 'left' issue. It is far more nuanced.

They have every right to be mad, but the Apache Foundation isn't to blame for actions of previous generations. Taking their anger out on the innocent is the best way to continue the hatred.

Thank you for acknowledging it isn't a left/right issue.

Not having read the story ... this is my guess of the viewpoint that wants the name change.
It is using a culture's / race's identifying name for something that has absolutely nothing to do with that group. It distorts and weakens the meaning and significance of the identifier when it is used for something other than the group. When you say "Apache", there shouldn't be any question or much thought needed to know that you are referring to the Native American nation and its culture; you shouldn't have to use the surrounding context to determine tribal nation versus software. When you says Irish, you immediately know that whatever you're talking about has some connection to the Irish culture. It should be the same when you say Apache.
I make no statement either way on whether I personally agree with this position. I do understand it, though.

I did have a quiet smile at the redefinition of the acronym NOTAM.
In the 20+ years I have been reading them it was always "NOTice to AirMen" (and still is, according to the Australian Government[^])

yeah that was the current admin's upgrade to NOTAM. The system is antiquated and needs re-work.

Apple could release a MacBook Pro laptop with a touchscreen as soon as 2025, according to a report from Bloomberg. "We've done tons of user testing on this, and it turns out touchscreens don't work."
Slightly paraphrased, but that was His Steve's opinion.

Veracode, provider of modern application security testing solutions, today released the results of the Veracode State of Software Security 2023 report, revealing that flaw build up overtime poses a real issue for many businesses. I'm sure if you look again, you'll see that's probably more like 100%

I think the software they used to determine this has a flaw - it can't count to 100%

- Distance to sun
- Class of sun radiation
- Water presence

Baby steps, I guess. All I get out of this is that the "fraction of stars that have planets" factor in the Drake equation seems to be quite high after all.
