With generative AI being all the rage these days, Tabnine has updated its AI-powered code completion tool for Visual Studio Code with new functionality: unit testing. Now you can have an AI generate the stuff you weren't doing anyway!

Oh my, was it AI that generated all that stuff for me?, never would've thought.

Everyone who says "tech debt" assumes they know what we’re all talking about, but their individual pictures differ quite a bit. Just say, "we'll never get the code the way we want it"

It's the new "I'm not touching you."
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

Although Windows PCs already come with a built-in antivirus solution in the form of Windows Security, Microsoft also offers another standalone utility for Microsoft 365 subscribers, called Microsoft Defender. Hit the "Hyperspace" button!

Someone give the folks at Neowin a clue. Windows Defender is installed on every Windows 10 and later PC by default. Windows Security is a superset of Defender and includes hardware support such as TPM based Bitlocker, Core Isolation, and UEFI boot Firmware signing.

Before we all kick the bucket, someone should write a book about the old 2000's netsec community. Matt Miller (Skape) ended up at Microsoft. Ken (Skywing) ended up at the same. Spencer went to Symantec. Greg ended up founding HBGary with all it's controversy.
You should trust Windows Defender, the foundations were built by people who understood Windows security.

It’s the Defender app in particular:
Quote: The Defender app will soon be automatically added to your Windows 10 or Windows 11 device during a routine update of your Microsoft 365 apps. Look for it in the Start Menu and make sure to sign in to activate your protections.
Just another example of Microsoft naming getting in the way, IMO.

Defender has been part of Windows since at least Windows 10 RTM, and the back of my brain is saying Windows 8 RTM. Prior to that it was Security Essentials and was available for download for XP and Windows 7. What Microsoft is releasing is new enhancements relating to blocking the latest attack vectors.

Does it come with a manual...

It essentially works in automatic mode.
Besides, it is fairly well trained; it doesn't need manuals to stay in shape.

Hackers and others perpetuating ransomware threats seem to be the latest tech industry workers navigating a shaky job market. It's rough out there

No gold watch, but most likely either cement shoes or something in a steel jacket about a size 9mm.

Are you on the job hunt? Junior developers should take note of the following interviewing advice from senior developer David Eastman. I know you're all all-stars, but maybe to help some of your friends

Quote: There are slightly more elephant traps at interview time for junior devs, as they are seen as more of a risk. Is the author a CPian?
