Haven't got Windows 8 installed, but since about NT you have the option in each user properties -
Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Local Users and Groups -> Users -> Right Click Desired User -> Properties and select Password never expires
I think that should do it for you.
Did you watch the Junior Dos Santos and Cain Valasquez UFC fight?
It looked to me to be a setup to enable a 3rd fight. JDS did not try in any decent way to stopo a take down. Didn't try any take downs of his own so he could usae his newly acquired Ju Jitsu balck belt techniques.
At the very least he could have tried to knee Valesquez in the face each time he dived at JDS feet.
I want my beer money back, it was possibly the worst fight in UFC 155 including all the preliminaries.

Odd but I don't see my user in that list. All the users that are in that list, the passwords are set to never expire.
I didn't watch the fight yet. I cannot stand commercial television, so I wait until they come out on dvd and then rent them. This works for me, but generally means I'm a few behind. I think there are two at the video store now that I need to watch still.
If it moves, compile it

I watch it on Pay Per View at the local pub while drinking a squillion.

Strange, I'll have to download and install Windows 8 to play with and see what the differences are.

A user installed a package I created, didn't work. So, tried to install it manually; added Mono and libappstatusindicator from the terminal. Now the user is confronted with an error in the update-manager;
Some packages could not be installed
amberindicator:i386: Depends: debhelper (>=5) but 9.20120115ubuntu3 is installed
Depends: mono-runtime (>= 2.10.8.1-1) but 2.10.8.1-1ubuntu2.2 is installed
The suggested resolution would be to run sudo apt-get -f install according to the docs, but that sounds like 'try this and see if it works'. That's usually good enough since we can always reinstall the system if things go wrong. Can't do that with a users' PC.
Who can tell me what I did wrong, and how to fix it? Does the error prevent other parts of the system from updating correctly?

Not yet

Always nice when an irrational error-description suddenly starts to sound logical. There's a difference in versions for the different platforms?
Good enough starting point for a deeper Google, thanks

There could be... that's why a lot of packages in Linux provide source code instead of binaries, you could just rebuild for your platform. If you look at the error description, looks like some of those were built specifically for that version of Ubuntu... now, not sure how that got to the version number that the installer is looking at (not sure where this comes from specifically in Linux) but that seems to be the error source.

I have no problems invoking the compiler from code, nor in downloading the files; but mono needs to be there as a prerequisite, and also the CIL-bindings to existing Linux-libraries. (Well, at least for me )

My dependencies are generic, not bound to a platform;
Architecture: i386
Depends: debhelper (>= 5), libappindicator0.1-cil-dev (>=0.4.92-0), libappindicator0.1-cil (>=0.4.92-0), mono-runtime (>=2.10.8.1-1) At least it's a good starting point - thanks

Today the ports were getting confused and Win'7 was lying to me again.
I first removed the device (Control panel ---> Devices and Printers ---> removed the external device which was connected by BlueTooth.)
I then went to device manager, and deleted all the ports that I knew were bogus.
I then went back to Devices and Printers
I added the known device.
Windows reported that COM20 was back on the list.
There were a total of 4 Com Ports
COM1
COM2
COM18
COM20
Within a few minutes, I watched, king of the clueless, as Windows started adding more Com ports, specifically,
COM25
COM28
COM29
COM30
Following this, Win'7 begins lying to me again, telling me that I have two COM20 ports.
This was exactly and precisely the same problem I had which kept me chasing clouds for 10 days, and I do not want to repeat the previous behavior.
There are a total of 4 USB devices connected to this machine
One USB Hub with three devices attached
-- A debugging device for the embedded system
-- An external hard drive
-- The bluetooth device
There is one other USB cable connected to thin air
What on earth is going on ?
Why is Win'7 reporting two COM20 ports ?
I welcome and thank anyone who can provide any answer behind all this.

This may be an inappropriate place to ask this, but I am stuck.
So if it is, please just ignore my post. No preaching, please.
I am trying to replace faulty ( intermittent) HDD in my Windows7 Inspiron ONE.
I got as far as building Recovery partition on existing HDD and created repair CD.
I have also created system image ( standard Window7 option) on my new drive.
I can boot using the CD, than when I try to do recovery Window7 complains.
If I do it again, start with CD I get an error which basically said that I am using incompatible OS to finish the recovery.
I used non MS program to clone the HDD onto USB drive , but Windows7 won't boot using the USB.
Basically - I cannot start Windows7 using USB.
The Inspiron has only two SATA ports so if I start using CD I have only the original HDD.
So – ideally I need to be able to start Windows7 and have BOTH old and new HDD connected.
Any other standard options?
I do not have Windows7 CD, this devilish machine was given to me by frustrated user. Please no comments on that, OK. I'll be happy to just play Solitaire on it, but it would be nice if it stayed up for few games.
Thanks for you time.
PS I did find some “how to replace HDD” and used it to replace the hardware, but it fell short on how to clone the OS disk.

sometimes the boot sees something changed. You should be able to enter the windows 7 set up and fix it
In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

Get or borrow a USB CD player?
People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

I have opened the box and temporary installed two HDD. Since it has only two SATA ports I have no internal CD. I like your idea, however so far all my attempts to create Windows7 image on the second HDD have failed. But after all this work I am not convinced the original HDD is the problem. When it fails the LCD goes psychedelic and the box has to cool off before it will work again.
I wonder how one can "upgrade" to Windows8.
It would be nice if I could use the LCD as a second monitor to find out where is the problem. I am guessing that Inspiron has a LCD memeory somewhere, but I did not look.
But at this point Inspiron ONE is nice piece of furniture for the house..

I am trying to install Git on my lucid vpn, I followed this tutorial.
http://kris.me.uk/2010/09/30/git-repository-server-gitolite.html[^]
It worked until I run this command:
src/gl-system-install ~/bin ~/share/gitolite/conf ~/share/gitolite/hooks
Which it outputs
bash: src/gl-system-install: No such file or directory
I can't find anything on it, it is my first time running gitolite anyone have any advice?
EDIT:
Found a directory gl-system-install
/home/git/src/gl-system-install

See my answer to him... seems to me like he just missed the "log in as git user" step.

I did not bother to read the article, assuming any Linux user would understand about directory trees and search paths.

Your error seems to indicate you didn't follow the step that said... log in under your git account:
Quote: Log in as the git user:
If you had logged in under the git account... you would be in the home directory for that user... which is:
/home/git/
...therefore when you typed the command...
src/gl-system-install ~/bin ~/share/gitolite/conf ~/share/gitolite/hooks
...you would already be in the git home directory... therefore the location src/gl-system-install would make sense... if you're ANYWHERE else in the system, the call will fail.
Edit: Going over the short article again... it seems to assume you've configured su to change you from your current directory to the home directory of the user you've logged in as. This isn't the default behavior of su. So you'll have to either log off and log back in to be in the right home directory or just cd into the right home directory (or change the default behavior of su).

Cisco company www.cisco.com[^] have a huge depository of information you may find of interest including stuff on "wireless access point authentication". But you will need to search their depository to find what you need.
That said, you may also find something to interest you here https://www.opennetworking.org/[^]
