|
|

To remove the Recycle Bin icon from your desktop:
- Go to Control Panel;
- Using the search box on the upper-right side, search for "desktop icons";
- Click "Show or hide common icons on the desktop";
- Un-tick "Recycle Bin";
- Click "OK";

Isn't there also a setting that you can hide the Recycle Bin icon via Control Panel?
|
|
|
|
|
To show or hide the Recycle Bin on the desktop
1.Click the Start button , type desktop icons into the search box, and then click Show or hide common icons on the desktop.
2.In the Desktop Icon Settings dialog box, do one of the following:
•To hide the Recycle Bin, clear the Recycle Bin check box.
•To show the Recycle Bin, select the Recycle Bin check box.
3.Click OK.

Hi Aatif,
Not sure as which OS you have installe don your machine.
But here is the solution:
on Windows XP -
Open registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace
Locate the following Key and Delete te key
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
If you are runing Vista
Right Click on Recyclin Bin and Delete the Key
If you have Windows 7.
You do not have the option to Delete the Recyclin bin.
However you can make that Disable.
Go to Control Panel > Apperanced and personlaisation >
on the Left hand Navigation List select change Desktop Icons and Uncheck recyclin Bin.
Recyclin Bin is disappered.
To enable back follow the same steps and check the Recyclin bin option in change Desktop Icons.
Hope this helps
Regards
Adeeb

ENVIRONMENT:
Both the server I am working from and the SharePoint server are running on Windows 2008 and both are on SANS. I have a process in SSIS (SQL Server 2008 R2) on my server that needs to copy over the files located on the SharePoint server in order to process them, as per the business rules. If I reboot my server, then the SSIS package, which first checks to see if the files exist, is unable to find the files. However, it will work if I open Windows Explorer on my server and just go to the folder of one of the files on the SharePoint server using a UNC path.
OBJECTIVE:
Be able to reboot my server without having to manually open Windows Explorer in order to validate the location of a file folder on the SharePoint server before the automated SSIS package launches. That is, apply a process that will perform the folder validation upon startup of my server.
ATTEMPT MADE:
Created a batch file called ValidateFolder.bat with the following contents (modified) and applied it to the Startup.
echo %date%
pushd \\SharePointServer\xxx\projects
dir
Of course, this created a temporary mapped drive that disappears and is recreated with each reboot. This is not a problem because it only creates the one mapped drive and no more. Unfortunately, this did not make any difference. It properly launched following the reboot, but the SSIS package still could not find the files on the SharePoint server until I applied the before mentioned manual process using Windows Explorer.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what I can try next?
Thanks in advance.

I ran a computer technician's tool inside one of my Win 7 virtual machines to see how it works. Soon after running the tool, Windows said it was "Not Genuine" and when I tried to validate, the website said that my product key is "blocked!"
Does anyone know if it's possible that this tool programmatically changed my product key to a blocked key without my knowledge or consent?
Are there Win32 API's for changing the product key?
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

Unfortunately... Yes.

The application may have changed your product key by shell executing the slmgr.vbs volume licensing script.

Hi,
I have a virtual harddisk file created using a backup software., i was able to attach the file in disk-management [2008 R2] to view the files., When i right clicked the disk management Disk# section, it does not show me, detach option, it just showed me up the offline option. I made the disk offline and detached it from safely remove hardware option.
Now the problem is, i am not able to delete the vhd file, that i detached. On viewing the process explorer it says that the system process is using the file handle. I cannot reboot my server as it is very cruical. Any Suggestions on how this can be done !
Thanks,
Sajith

I am being moved to the other side of the hall.
This is really a good thing; I think // I hope.
We have no active wires over there; i.e., no phone, no internet.
We want to try a wireless connection through the walls.
No clue what I'm doing; no clue if this is even going to work in the first place.
Is this forum, System Admin the place to ask these questions ?
At the moment, my first question is: What questions do I ask ?

C-P-User-3 wrote: What questions do I ask ?
- Is there a WiFi router/repeater nearby?
- What is the access key?
With that information you just make sure that WiFi is enabled on your PC and wait for Windows to find the signal. Then follow the on-screen instructions.

I was creating problems in my mind which did not exist in real life !!!
Your advice is correct, except, in my case, this was the "fix"...
Turn on notebook computer.
It all worked.
Duh
I was worried that I was going to build small wooden ledges over the two respective office doors, arrange a repeater system, blah blah blah.
I am truly impressed that this worked so, well, duh, it just worked.

how can use Dashboard in VB.Net ??????
|
|

Not "NOW", I'm at work. Answering is done on a voluntary base, when WE have the time, and when WE feel like it.
FWIW; "dashboard" isn't a standard control in the .NET framework. If you want to know how to use it, ask the one who created it.

I'm puzzled that I am no longer receiving your weekly newsletters. I have checked my settings, and should be getting articles on a number of chosen topics. I have also checked my spam filters to make sure that nothing from Code Project is being blocked.
Any thoughts?
