do you want to restrict the users(unauthenticated) from accessing the Internet????
|
|
|
|
|
I want to restrict unauthenticated users accessing my site (as I need to control who has access to it). My web.config file looks like this:
<authentication mode="Windows">
<authorization>
<allow users="RETAIL\Steph">
<allow users="RETAIL\Dan">
<deny users="*">
This works OK, and if the user isn't an allowed user, then the standard login screen is displayed - the standard windows 'Connect to server' screen. (I haven't got a login screen of my own.)
Other info I should have told you before (sorry, got brain drain ), is that I'm using C# and I have anonymous access switched off in IIS, and no impersonation in the web.config.

You could utilize DotNetNuke to do something like that. I've seen people talking about various modules to support what you're looking for. In my opinion, an option like that would be best because it'd be the most flexible.

What do you mean by "log off using panels"? What "panels" are you talking about?

First off, you won't get too many Java people around these parts. Second, I'm still kind of lost as far as what you're looking for. What do you mean by "tab"? Are you working with a client or web app? Both are drastically different implementations.

i tried forward to all incoming packets using JPCAP.But it only forwards IP addressed of local n/w like 192.168.*.* or 172.*.*.*.But the packets for TCP request after DNS name resolution does not contain local IP address as they are not physically connected.So am i using wrong libraries or such thing. Please let me inform as quickly as possible.
this is the part of the code:
ip.setIPv4Parameter(priority, d_flag, t_flag, r_flag, rsv_tos, rsv_frag, dont_frag, more_frag, offset, ident, ttl, protocol, src, dst) ;
System.out.println ("Sending");
ip.data=packet.data;
ip.datalink=e;
try {
System.out.println (ip.dst_ip);
sender.sendPacket(ip);
System.out.println ("Sent");

I think that you will find a proxy server and tight firewall the easiest implementation. Set the firewall's rules so that no outgoing traffic gets through unless it comes from the proxy server. Then, set up the proxy server to require authentication.
Traffic does not get through:
Client <-X-> Firewall
Traffic gets through:
Client <---> Proxy Server <---> Firewall <---> Internet
I've never done this in a Windows environment, so you'll have to do that research by yourself.

SERIOUS... Lost all my sites.
I have been working on a few ACCESS DATABASE websites and all was working fine....TILL NOW. All of my sites on my local machine is giving me exactly the same error when ever I try to access my ACCESS DBs. All different sites, all with different databases.... What is going on. .PLEASE. Here is the error. This funnely enough happened just after I did an ASPX page connection to an Access DB and from there on all my ASP page connections to ANY OTHER DB in ANY of my other sites fell over.. DISASTEROUS. PS Working in Dreamweaver MX.
The part that bothers me is "Operation must use an updateable query."
FULL ERROR.

The error message means that the user account used for running the asp code doesn't have write permission to the database file.
Check in the properties for the web site, what user account is used for anonymous access (installing .NET might change this), then check the permissions on the database file for that account.

Why do you post two different replies with the same contents? And why oh WHY do you CAPITALIZE every other WORD that YOU are WRITING?
Right click on the file in explorer and open the properties for the file. Go to the security tab. There you will see the accounts that have permissions set for the file.
