I have done a website, using pages given to me by a graphic designer. He was very specific, I was told what fonts to use, etc. Here is the CSS for the three different areas we specify text:
.menuItem
{
font-family: Century Gothic;
font-size:smaller;
text-align: right;
margin-right: 10px;
}
.text
{
font-family: Century Gothic;
font-size:small;
font-style:italic;
font-weight:normal;
text-align: justify;
line-height: 18px;
margin-left: 20px;
}
.gradient
{
background-image: url('images/pages/home/gradient.JPG');
background-position: left top;
background-repeat: repeat;
font-family: Century Gothic;
font-size:small;
font-style:italic;
font-weight:400;
text-align: justify;
line-height: 18px;
margin-left: 20px;
}
This looks exactly like the screenshots in IE, but it looks terrible in Firefox. How can I keep the look we want in IE, but specify different fonts for Firefox ?

If the problem is that Firefox doesn't support Century Gothic, can you do something like font-family: Century Gothic, verdana (or a more appropriate font);

OK, so it chooses the next one if it doesn't find the first ? Thanks.

Hi,
I have a <ul> element and I need to center it. It can have anything from 0 to 5 <li> elements in it. I have tried to put the whole <ul> in a div with a style of text-align:center but it does not work. I think it is because of the float:left in my <li> element.
Here is my <ul> element:
<ul class="popular">
<li><img src="Images/TestCategory.jpg" alt="" height="64" width="85" /><br />Category 1</li>
<li><img src="Images/TestCategory.jpg" alt="" height="64" width="85" /><br />Category 2</li>
<li><img src="Images/TestCategory.jpg" alt="" height="64" width="85" /><br />Category 3</li>
<li><img src="Images/TestCategory.jpg" alt="" height="64" width="85" /><br />Category 4</li>
<li><img src="Images/TestCategory.jpg" alt="" height="64" width="85" /><br />Category 5</li>
</ul>
<div style="clear:both"></div>
Here is my styles:
ul.popular{margin: 0;padding: 0;}
ul.popular li{display:inline;list-style:none;margin: 0;padding: 0;text-align:center;float:left;}
ul.popular li img{border:solid 1px #ddd;}
Please can some help?
Thanks
Brendan</ul></li></ul></li></ul>

So,what is the problem? Do you want the autocomplete feature on or off?

Hi All
Is there a way to click on a button, or a simple text as hyperlink; that takes me to a page at the same time or before automatically closing the window??
Maybe something using javascript:window.close();
Thanks

You've have to pass something to the new page on the URL, unless you want it to always close after a time when navigated to.

I have a database from where I read Images as byte[] and then convert it to System.Drawing.Image. How can I display that image on my aspx-form?

There is an ASP.NET forum....
The way to do this is to have a custom file extension that you use to specify the images, which knows to use Response.BinaryWrite to send the image back down. If you are in an aspx code behind amd you have an Image object, there's really no way to show it within a page, without saving it to the HDD first.

Hi
Is there a way to display two different pages in one single page WITHOUT USING FRAMES?????
Thanks

You can use an IFRAME or you'll need to join the pages on your server before displaying them.

hi,
well I've recently come to web development and I've come to know that tables are not the best option for making tabular displays. They say that we should be using DIVs as much as we can coz Google and other search engines also give more priority to the web sites built with DIVs rather than those with tables, and other reasons as well.
Can anyone plz refer some reading material (online) for learning how to use Divs in this fashion. I think u also need to use CSS for that as well right?
Many thanks,
Rocky

You do need to use CSS, but you should try and bear in mind what it is that you are doing - if you are acutally displaying a table (like a gridview), there's nothing particularly wrong with using table tags - it's what they're there for.

yea I totally agree with u. I just want to learn using DIVs as well u know.

As Paddy said, if you are displaying tabular data then use tables - that is what they are designed for. The whole issue surrounding tables is to not use them for other purposes, such as page layout. Google does not give preference to divs, but it may give preference to sites that are semantically clean as these sites will be 'easier' to parse. A site that uses a table to display tabular data is semantically clean and will display properly in all browsers. A site using divs to display a table of data will likely look a mess in some browsers (for example, a screen reader will have no idea what it is you are trying to display).

Hi all,
I am trying to develop a web application in which I want to have a list box in a form.
It should be able to drag and drop the files on to it. It should just capture the file name with the path.
I am able to do this in a Windows application, by setting the "AllowDrag" property of the list box to true.
How can I achieve this in Web application? For the matter of fact I just want to capture all the names of the files that are dragged on to the form. It need not be list box alone. any other control will also do.
Any ideas please.
Thanks you all in Advance.
