Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Hey all,
Ive been going to school for IT but thats been put on hold now because of financial reasons. However i didn't want to fall behind in my education so i was wonder what free or low cost resources you guys had for learning new languages and stuff. Forums are good for learning how to do specific things but not as easy to learn from scratch. Any and all options posted will be considered! Thanks in advance!

Firstly, please read the preamble at the top of this page. And if you want free resources of anything, then www.google.com[^] is the place to look.

These guys at editing insider have a fairly large list of free tools for video editing along with pretty in-depth editing tutorials.

AOMEI Backupper Standard[^]
It's free - you can pay to upgrade, but if you don't need the features it works fine.
It creates disk images, which you can store as files in folders as date points on USB or NAS drives, or write to CD / DVD if you are old fashioned. In theory, you could push them to the cloud, but since they will be pretty big it might take a while...
It also does "regular" file backups - so if you want to backup your work every day, it can do that as well.
You can compress (my 1TB drive compressed to 350GB on "Normal" compression, but it's only about half full); you can encrypt; you can split the archives.
And the best bit is that you can restore the disk image, or mount it as a virtual drive to fetch individual files or folders if you need them - so you get the best of both worlds.
The UI is pretty simple to understand, and it works on 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 so if you decide you can't cope with the ugly flat win 10 look, you can revert without having to trust Microsoft not to lose your data in the process...
I like it: and I'm a big fan of backups, so if you don't make them on a regular basis then get it, and do it. If you don't, you know you are going to wish you had sometime next week, right?
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Can you edit your post and provide a link?
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Does Markdown officially support Html inline image? While the MarkdownPad can display Html inline image, GitHub does not. Is it a GitHub's bug?

I just want to share this android emulator software called BlueStacks[^]
It's totally free to download it. You can play the same games in your GooglePlay as well as the apps. The interface is just like you are using an android phone. I have been using this for a week now and playing RTS games like Boom Beach and Throne Rush. There are some games that you may need touchscreen monitor or any device that can do the trick but it will be useful to those who are going to test their mobile or web apps on android. Enjoy!

I have personally installed this program to play clash of clans on my pc. It worked, but you are constantly having to install junk games.
Also there are a lot of virus infected versions in the wild. My brother lost his entire computer to a nasty hijacker.

If you record voice, e.g. for a podcast, then Pree[^] is ideal. Basically, using hot keys, you can record, pause, drop and continue recording. It does make for a surprisingly simple and effective recording utility.

Before I committed to rolling my own, I asked Google to find me a path editor. The first item in the result returned by the query is just about perfect. https://patheditor2.codeplex.com/releases/view/117953[^] gets the job done. A couple of reviewers groused about it displaying only about 7 items. Gee! If I have more than that many items in my path, some of them should almost certainly go. With its aid, I quickly had mine cut down to a total of 7 items, all in the SYSTEM branch.

Supercharge your API workflow with Postman!
Build, test, and document your APIs faster. More than a million developers already do.
The idea for Postman arose while the founders were working together, and were frustrated with the existing tools for testing APIs. They felt there had to be a better language for developers to communicate about APIs. This led to the creation of Postman. Postman helps you build, test, and document APIs faster.
Postman features include:
- History of sent requests
- Create requests quickly
- Replay and organize
- Switch context quickly
- Built-in authentication helpers
- Customize with scripts
- Robust testing framework
- Automate collections
Apart from this, you can also upgrade with Jetpacks to unlock the collection runner and test editor within Postman. Only $9.99 for a single license. Free upgrades for life.
All this is available in an intuitive user interface that would make testing APIs effortless.

Is this free for a basic license, or $9.99?
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, it's free for the basic license. If you want advanced features then you can pay one time $9.99.
So far all I wanted to do is make API test calls, and the free version works just fine.
