Strange, when I run the code I get this error message:
Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 2 by reference in ...
If you look at the PDOStatement::bindParam() documentation, the second argument is passed by reference, so I guess you can't pass a literal value by reference.

hi,
i have a html data(more than window size) as php variable .
i want to load that data on scrolling down .
any one can help to me....
thank u.

Why not just output it all and let the browser take care of the scrolling? All browsers do an excellent job of scrolling if they need to do so.

Are trying to get some sort of loading like a story line of social sites, where more data is loaded when you scroll down.
If so then you will have to create some sort of paging mechanism in the PHP side, so that jQuery can send ajax calls to load the next section of data. Your PHP site can then return the data based on the page provided by the ajax call.

Hi.
I am trying to import a excel spreadsheet to mysql table but the date field is not importing correctly.
I have changed the format of date in excel to YYYY-MM-DD and now after importing it to the database, I am getting 2012-00-00 in the table instead of 2012-02-23
Any ideas to solve this?
Thanks

Excel stores dates internally as double precision floating numbers (Microsoft DATE[^] format) and uses the format specification only when displaying dates.
So your import function must convert the DATE format into the MySQL date format.

you should format with "Y-m-d"

Hello guys,
I want to be able to send mail in html format like the one below but I get the raw html in my mail.
include_once "Mail.php";
function isMailSent($from, $to, $subject, $body) {
$host = "mail.domain.com";
$username = "email@domain.com";
$password = "password";
$headers = array ('From' => $from,
'To' => $to,
'Subject' => $subject);
$smtp = Mail::factory('smtp',
array ('host' => $host,
'auth' => true,
'username' => $username,
'password' => $password));
try {
$body = '<p><img src="/images/logo.png" /></p>' . $body . '<p>Thank you!</p>';
$mail = $smtp->send($to, $headers, $body);
if (PEAR::isError($mail)) {
return "<p>" . $mail->getMessage() . "</p>";
} else {
return "<p>Message successfully sent!</p>";
}
} catch (Exception $e) {
return $e->getMessage();
}
}
Please help.

I don't know much about PHP, but you must pass the proper content type in the mail header (adjust the charset and encoding if necessary, e.g. charset us-ascii with encoding 7bit):
$headers['Content-Type'] = "text/html; charset=\"UTF-8\"";
$headers['Content-Transfer-Encoding'] = "8bit";

I'm having trouble connecting to mysql.com or any of its subdomains. The internet connection here is very slow anyway (Having average speed of 4kBps). But I can painfully connect to CP and many other sites (glad CP doesn't use big images, great site using mostly CSS+JS)
I am desperate here! I need to download the MySQL ODBC driver (Win7) somehow.

It doesn't seem to be working for me either.
Have you tried any of the mirrors?
The European mirror seems alive and well: http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/db/mysql/[^] - don't know if it has the driver you want, but it is working.

It was no problem - my internet may not be the fastest around, but I'm glad to say the days of 4Kbps are well and truly behind me!
I remember them though: just downloading a single picture took all damn day...

I just do some internet surfing, social networking on my laptop.
Right now I am using Ubuntu 64bit.
What would you say about OpenSuse?
|

It does just as fine as any other Linux distro...

Unfortunately, that doesn't help...

Well...what kind of answer are you looking for then? In your original post you are asking what people think of OpenSuse, and I gave you a legitimate opinion. I have used about a half a dozen different major Linux distributions over the past 12 years and there does not really seem to be any particular one better than the other. Of my top two that I like to use, would have to be Ubuntu and OpenSuse.
