Hi
How to get the values of dynamic fileupload controls in Submit button click without using AJAX.
I am creating the control/setting the IDs at runtime.
FileUpload uploadDataFile = new FileUpload();
uploadDataFile.ID = "FileUpload1";
Thanks in advance

Please don't cross post. This same question was asked here[^]. Both threads now have answers (and different answers) which causes people to look in two different places for an answer to the same question.

That just irritates people. If you need a quick reply go to a paid support service. They are paid to reply quickly. This is a volunteer service where people help out in their spare time. You will get a response when people are able to respond.

What is calling what? What bit of code fell over? What were you doing at the time? You really need to supply more information than this.

You need to supply more information. I can't help unless you give more information, so that's why I asked for more information. However, if you don't want help...

yeah, i recognized your name as being a user who is just rude to veteran users. You don't want to do your own work. I hope all veteran users note you and NEVER help you with anything again. You may want to look at changing careers. I think working at the DMV is more in your alley considering your attitude.

ASP.NET is a framework for dealing with web applications. It has nothing to do with databases. However, you can use ADO.NET for accessing databases.
This is an example of what you might use. You need to replace bits of this with your own variables and the like:
using(SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection("Your connection string here"))
{
SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand();
command.Connection = connection;
command.CommandText = "Analyst";
command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@UserId", theUserId);
command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@StockName", theStockName);
command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@NewUserId", theNewUserId);
connection.Open();
command.ExecuteNonQuery();
connection.Close();
}
Please check your stored procedure. You pass a parameter called @NewUserId which is never used.

Will the SQLCommand instance automatically get disposed after the execution ?

You know. I never realised that SqlCommand even had a Dispose method. It is the connection that holds the external resource. I'm not entirely sure what rare or unmanaged resources the command holds on to.

I always used to wrap command object in using statement. I have seen using for SQLConnection in your example, but for SQLCommand it was not there. So just cleared. Thanks,

req.Headers.Add("SOAPAction","");
req.ContentType = "text/xml;charset=\"utf-8\"";
req.Accept = "text/xml";
req.Method = "POST";
Stream stm = req.GetRequestStream();
xmlDoc.Save(stm);
stm.Close();
WebResponse resp = req.GetResponse();

Doesn't the webservice expose some WSDL? (Now, I'm really rusty on web services, I have to admit) Isn't it possible to get Visual Studio to generate a proxy class you can used based on the WSDL? (Thus saving you from having to generate your own code)
