There are too many variables to give a definitive answer. The best way is to use some load testing tools to identify the thresholds.

Hi, Im making a report system in ASP and coding with C# and im trying to make it email. Ive looked around and googled to no avail. Everywhere I look they just show how to make it bring up the default email client, but I need a system that doesnt need any user interaction. Basically if it picks up something in the database it must send an email. Please could someone help me, as this is rather urgent. I have my own server so if i need to install things its fine.
Thanks in advance!

There is such a wealth of information that shows exactly how to do this that I doubt very much you have search at all.

Are you kidding? A 5-second Google search threw up plenty of examples of C# code to send mail.
This means that:
i) You don't know how to use a search engine
ii) You don't know how to read the results returned by a search engine
In either case, you personally aren't suited for a career in software development if you can't perform either of these basic tasks.

Amusingly, this is the exact question that is asked here so often that it caused me to write this[^] tutorial.

I have created a website using the createwizard control. Does anyoone know how i can allow users to edit their own details.
many thanks

There's no such control as 'createwizard'. Do you mean CreateUserWizard? Please try and be accurate with the information in your messages, otherwise no one will understand what you are talking about?
What details are you referring to?

You can't create a website using the createwizard control.
You can, however, create a webpage, which resides in a website, that has a wizard control on it.

What details?
Getting answers depends on you giving accurate information and details.

Very sorry for the lack of information. Thanks for your patience. Yes i was refering to the createuserwizard. When users register, their information is stored in the members db. How can i get them to edit information they used to sign up. ie their email address.
Many thanks

i have searched the internet high and low for a solution to this, but no one seems to have the answer without paying $$$$ for a control. there has to be SOME way to do it. i just want my user to pick from a dropdown list of flag icons and be able to grab that value.
anyone?

Why? Presumably you want the user to pick a country from a list. If so, why not just display a list of country names? This is what every other website I have seen does. Why make things unnecessarily complicated?

you presume incorrectly. not flags as in country flags. flags as in state of progress flags. i would like to keep the footprint of the control to a minimum and integrate an already-existing colored-flag system on my backend.

You should have explained this in the first place. My assumption was reasonable.
You can't display images with the HTML SELECT tag, which is what an ASP.NET DropDownList control renders as. You would have to purchase a 3rd party component.

Is there anyway to connect local computer database such as MDB or SQL express from ASP.NET application? Please let me know.
|
|
|

Just establish a connection to your database as you would to any other.
connectionstrings.com[^] has plenty of connection string examples for both Access and SQL Express databases.

if I select drive C:, does it look for in IIS server or client computer? Could you show me some example?

I have no idea what you are talking about here.
All the information you need in order to connect to the databases you mention can be found in the link I previously sent you and by reading the MSDN documentation.

ASP.NET is server-based technology. You can not connect to a database on the client machine.
You can, using the proper connection string, connect to a remote system. Given the proper permissions of course. Do some research on database connections.
