Introduction

The Expense 2005 Application demonstrates rich client features in a thin-client (browser-based) application using Infragistics NetAdvantage ASP.NET presentation layer elements for navigation, menu, tabs, toolbars, trees, grids and charts. The user interface design and color selection was built using Microsoft Money 2005 as a point of reference. This newly designed reference application shows the use of client side java scripting, XML rendering, n-tier design, the utilization of Microsoft’s Data Access Application Block and other real world code samples. The focus of this application is not an architectural or security template. While we have attempted to build this application around a sound design, the main focus was placed on the user interface and technology examples. Some pages are built slightly different to provide examples of various approaches and technologies.

You can download the full source code and documentation if you desire or view it live. It is our continued goal to provide content for developers to learn and benefit from. We encourage your feedback so we may enhance this application and create additional code samples to improve your productivity with our presentation layer elements.
